Nana Annor Wu Asare II Installed as New Chief of Wassa Moseaso
The people of Wassa Moseaso in the Amenfi East Municipality of the Western Region have celebrated a historic occasion with the installation of Nana Annor Wu Asare II as the new chief of the community.
The colourful ceremony, held at the forecourt of the Moseaso Palace, attracted a large gathering of traditional leaders, government officials, community elders, and residents from across the Wassa area. The event was conducted under the supervision and authority of the Wassa Amenfi Traditional Council, ensuring that all customary rites and traditions were properly observed.
The installation was marked by rich cultural displays, traditional drumming, dancing, and the pouring of libation to invoke the blessings of the ancestors for the new chief’s reign.
In his acceptance speech, Nana Annor Wu Asare II expressed deep gratitude to the Wassa Amenfi Traditional Council, the kingmakers, and the people of Wassa Moseaso for their trust and support. He pledged to rule with humility, transparency, and dedication, focusing on development, unity, and peace.
> “My vision is to bring together all sons and daughters of Wassa Moseaso to work towards improving our roads, education, health facilities, and creating more job opportunities for our youth,” Nana Annor Wu Asare II stated.
He also called for collaboration between the traditional authorities, the Amenfi East Municipal Assembly, and community stakeholders to accelerate development and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the area.
Representatives of the Wassa Amenfi Traditional Council who graced the ceremony commended the people of Moseaso for their peaceful selection process and urged the new chief to lead with integrity and fairness.
Residents of Wassa Moseaso expressed joy and optimism about the new leadership, describing Nana Annor Wu Asare II as a unifier and a visionary leader who will continue the legacy of his predecessors.
The ceremony concluded with a grand durbar and vibrant cultural performances, marking the beginning of a new era of hope and progress for the people of Wassa Moseaso under the leadership of Nana Annor Wu Asare II.
