THE SAD STORY OF NATIONS FC 💔⚽

Last season, during the 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League campaign, Nations FC were one of the biggest talking points in Ghana football.

The Abrankese-based club fought bravely for the league title and came painfully close, only to lose it to Bibiani Gold Stars in heartbreaking fashion.

Many believed it was only the beginning of something special for the club.

Fast forward to this season, and the story has taken a shocking and painful twist.

Nations FC have been relegated to Division One.

The Abrankese side went into the final day hoping to survive and did their part by securing a crucial 1-0 away victory over Karela United. Hope was alive. Fans believed survival was possible.

But elsewhere at the Baba Yara Stadium, Swedru All Blacks defeated embattled Asante Kotoko 2-1 — a result that shattered Nations FC’s hopes of staying in the league.

What makes the story even more heartbreaking is that Asante Kotoko were awarded a late penalty that could have made the score 2-2 — a result that would have saved Nations FC from relegation.

The penalty was missed.

And with that miss, Nations FC’s Premier League journey came crashing down.

From fighting for the Ghana Premier League title just a season ago to suffering relegation this season — what really went wrong with Nations FC?
